AMTRUST TITLE HOSTED SECOND ANNUAL WOMEN IN COMMERCIAL REAL ESTATE SUMMIT

A diverse audience of more than 100 industry professionals attended AmTrust Title Insurance Company’s Second Annual Women in Commercial Real Estate summit on March 14th. The panels were led by moderators Marnie Adams, Head of Commercial Closing at Bayview Asset Management and Helen Mauch, Partner at Zarin & Steinmetz.

Panelists from Sebastian Capital, Arcturus Group, Avison Young, and L & L Holding Company kicked the event off with a discussion centered around trends in the commercial real estate market, focusing specifically on the boom in coworking, the impact of companies such as WeWork, and what millennials are seeking in today’s workplace.

The second panel, which included professionals from CAPSTAN, Cushman & Wakefield, and SQN RE Advisors, covered changes in the healthcare industry and how the shifts are impacting real estate usage and strategies.

“This summit brings together leaders who are driving growth and change in the industry and their knowledge and insights are extremely valuable as the real estate landscape continues to evolve,” said Jason Gordon, President of AmTrust Title. “The discussions shined a spotlight on hot topics and facilitated engaging conversation both amongst the panelists and the attendees following the sessions.”

Panelists drew on their extensive experience of the greater New York City commercial real estate market to provide insight on important industry topics. The discussions touched on the potential future of Amazon in Long Island City, opportunity zones, adaptive use buildings, and rebounding hotspots that are exciting the real estate market both in New York and around the country. Both panels concluded with audience questions for the panelists, providing attendees with further insight into the topics that they were most interested in.

The breakfast event was held at the CUNY Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue, Midtown South and 100 percent of the proceeds were donated to Win, which has been helping homeless women and their children rebuild their lives since 1983.

Steve Napolitano, Senior Executive Vice President of AmTrust Title, said, “It is particularly gratifying to have lively discussions about real estate and to be able to donate proceeds from the event to a worthy cause. We want to extend a big thanks to all our friends, associates and industry professional who turned out and made our second annual summit a success.”

AmTrust Title’s next summit, Young Leaders in Commercial Real Estate, is scheduled to take place June 19, 2019.
